SMITHFIELD - The Audubon Society of Rhode Island will host a weekend of fall birding Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5 on Block Island.

In the autumn Block Island becomes the resting place for thousands of migrating birds. More than 150 species have been seen on fall weekends.

The cost is $420/member; $450/non-member; open to ages: 14 and older. Cost of the weekend includes ferry fees, hotel accommodations, meals and programs. Sept. 1 is the deadline for registration.
