He is the grandson of Chuck and Laura Hirsch of Oceangate N.J., and Jan and Fran Smolan of Lincoln. He is the little brother of Kyle and Luke Smolan.

UXBRIDGE, Mass. - Douglas and Melissa (Gomes) Desilets announce the birth of a daughter, Julia Beatrice Desilets, on May 23, at Milford Regional Medical Center. Julia weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces. She is the granddaughter of Joaquim and Cecile Gomes, of Millville, Mass., and Roland and Sue Desilets of Blackstone.

SMITHFIELD - John and Tracey (O'Neill) McLaughlin announce the birth of a daughter, Matalyn Rose O'Neill McLaughlin, on June 9, at Women & Infants Hospital. Matalyn weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces. She is the granddaughter of Frank and Anne O'Neill of Florida, formally of Cumberland; and William and Barbara McLaughlin of Johnston. She is the little sister of Payden Grace McLaughlin.
