LINCOLN - Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Sally Canavan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1 with a gathering of family and friends at Twelve Acres restaurant in Smithfield.

They were married May 30, 1958 at St. Jude Church in Lincoln.

They are the parents of Joseph and Linda Canavan of Cumberland, Michael and Rachel Canavan of Tennessee, Mary Ann Canavan of Pascoag, Robert and Susan Canavan of Cumberland, and John and Nancy Canavan of Oregon. They are the grandparents to Laura, Michael, Daniel, Melissa, Patrick, Killian, Kayleigh, Michael, Mathew, David, and Sarah.

Mr. Canavan worked for Metcalf and Eddy Engineers in Boston, Mass. as an electrical designer for 37 years before retiring in 1998. Mrs. Canavan worked as a bookkeeper for various temporary agencies and John F. Maguire Co. Inc. in Pawtucket, before retiring in 1992.

The couple enjoy spending time together with family and friends.
