PAWTUCKET - Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island will offer a "Look Good ... Feel Better," program for cancer patients, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
"Look Good ... Feel Better" helps cancer patients cope with the unpleasant side effects of cancer treatment, such as dry skin, blotchiness, discolored fingernails and the loss of hair, eyelashes and eyebrows.
Local beauticians will be on hand to give the patients make-overs and share quick and easy makeup tricks to help them look and feel more like themselves again.
Patients will learn how to compensate for hair loss, including how to use scarves and turbans stylishly. They can also bring in wigs to be cut and styled.
To register for the program, call Gilda Medeiros at 729-2789.
