C. Thomas Buckley Jr. - Foster

C. Thomas Buckley Jr., 47, of Mount Hygeia Road, Foster, a former employee of The Fogarty Center for 18 years, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008.

He was the husband of Marcia A. (Reall) Buckley. Born in Charleston, W.Va., the son of Carl T. and Jane “Jeanie” (Jacques) Buckley of Glocester, he had been a resident of Foster for five years and had previously lived in Glocester. He had coached the Ponagansett High School boys and girls basketball teams, the North Smithfield High School boys basketball team and Ponagansett Youth Basketball and also was a referee for local town leagues and a volunteer for Special Olympics. He was a member of the Glocester Lions and ran its golf tournament as well as the golf tournament for Camp Ruggles. He was a member of the Greenville Baptist Church and was a graduate of Rhode Island College.

Besides his wife and parents he leaves three children, Patrick T., Michael C. and Daniel R. Buckley, all of Foster; two sisters, Elizabeth Anderson of Terryville, Conn., and Jane Nelson of Greenville, S.C.; his maternal grandmother, Margaret (Richardson) Jacques of Smithfield; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Greenville Baptist Church, Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 3-7 p.m. in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville.
