Leona M. Miles - Lincoln

Leona M. (Sauve) Miles, 92, of Kilburn Avenue, Lincoln, died peacefully Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at the home of her granddaughter in Lincoln.

She was the beloved wife of the late T. Arthur Miles. Born in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of the late Richard and Emma (Larsh) Sauve, she had lived in Lincoln for more than 58 years. Mrs. Miles was a communicant of St. Jude’s Church in Lincoln, where she was instrumental in making baptismal bibs, and also butterflies for the Mass at Easter. She was a corporator of the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket. She leaves a son, David A. Miles of Rumford; two grandchildren, Philip D. Miles and Sybil L. Miles-Castellone, both of Lincoln; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicole and Lauren Garcia, and Ian and Ashley Miles; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard Sauve, Dorothy Dolan, Anna Fitcher and Sister Rella Sauve, O.P.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 9 a.m. from Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Miles’ memory to the Scandinavian Retirement Center, 50 Warwick Avenue, Cranston, RI 02905 would be appreciated.
