Linda M. Marshall-Godin - Woonsocket

Linda M. Marshall-Godin, 53, of Napoleon Street, Woonsocket, died Sunday, Aug. 10, at home. Linda successfully battled kidney disease for several years and her passing was unexpected.

She was the loving wife of Marcel R. Godin; they were married Oct. 20, 2001. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Holgate) Marshall. She resided in her home on Napoleon Avenue her entire life. Linda worked for the state of Rhode Island Department of Human Services in the Woonsocket office for more than 28 years. Linda enjoyed traveling and was fond of Aruba, Florida, the Caribbean and New Hampshire and once traveled cross county. She had a special affinity for her cats, past and present, especially Bootsie, Kimber, Sidney and Blackie, and was an avid collector of all types of decorations and memorabilia related to cats. Above all, Linda was devoted to her family and friends. In addition to her husband she leaves a sister, Gail Poisson and her husband Ronald in Florida; a nephew, Ronald Poisson Jr. and his wife Christine in New York; her great-niece and great-nephew, Olivia and Tristan Poisson in New York; her uncle, Ronald Marshall of Pawtucket; and her brother-in-law, Norman Godin and his wife Claire and their children Paul, Roger, Gerald, Daniel and David Godin, all in Connecticut. Linda also leaves her best friend, Sylvia Richards and her husband Bryan of Woonsocket.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Rathbun Street, Woonsocket.
