Margaret A. MacKinnon - Lincoln

Margaret A. “Peg” (Ryan) MacKinnon, 82, of Reservoir Avenue, Lincoln, died Thursday, Aug. 7, at St. Clare’s Home in Newport.

She was the wife of the late Francis X. MacKinnon. Born in Newport, a daughter of the late Matthew and Susan (Briody) Ryan, she had lived in Lincoln for the past 39 years. Mrs. MacKinnon was a bookkeeper and secretary in the Lincoln School Department, starting at Fairlawn Elementary School and finishing at Lincoln High School after 27 years, retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of St. Jude’s Church in Lincoln. She leaves three daughters, Peggy A. Pates of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass., Maureen F. Smith of Lincoln and Kathleen MacKinnon of Fairbanks, Alaska; four sons, Francis X. MacKinnon Jr. of Scituate, Alexander and Bryan MacKinnon, both of Lincoln, and Kevin MacKinnon of North Providence; a sister, Alice Larsgar in New York; seven grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Susan Ryan, Florence Olynack, Rose Sullivan, Mary Quintanna, Kathleen Ryan and Matthew Ryan.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 8:45 a.m. from Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln.
