Reall lists accomplishments

NORTH PROVIDENCE - Helen Reall, candidate for School Committee Disctrict 3, said in a press release this week that she agrees with her opponent when he states that "we need to elect officials who will make the right decisions by enhancing the quality of education in our town ..."

She said "To that end, during my tenure on the School Committee, in collaboration with all those involved in the educational process in the town, we have achieved the following outcomes: all curricula conform to national and state standards which include grade span expectations and grade level expectations; all student taxes have been updated to conform to curricula revisions; the high school received a full ten year accreditation from NEASC; five of our early childhood programs have received national accreditation and the others are in the second phase of the process; the high school Senior Project is nationally accredited and two similar projects are being done on a smaller scale at both middle schools; three of our schools have been designated as Regents Commercial Schools and six of our schools have been designated as high performing, two are moderately performing, and even though the high school is in the second year of PS & 1, a number of educational strategies are being implemented to address the special needs issues, such as inclusion classes."

She continued, "I can proudly point to these accomplishments, achieved through a team effort, and say that I am truly the School Committee official who should be re-elected.
