Mancini Center to host historical Lymansville presentation

NORTH PROVIDENCE - The Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center, 2 Atlantic Blvd., announces the following programs.

A presentation on the village of Lymansville will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Judith Bessette will present a historical DVD with narration, discussing the history of the textile mills, immigration in the village and the progression of the Italian American community in that area.

Free blood pressure screenings will be available Wednesday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Evening bingo is set for Friday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Winners will receive cash prizes. Purchase tickets in advance in the center's foyer. Transportation is available.

September is Senior Citizens Month. To show support and appreciation, the center has designated a different color to be worn each day the week of Sept. 8. The person using the color in the most original outfit will win a prize for that day. The colors are: Monday, blazing red; Tuesday, gregarious green; Wednesday, mellow yellow; Thursday, gentle blue; Friday, passionate purple.

A special luncheon and program honoring members who are 90 and older will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 11:30 a.m. Vini Ames will provide entertainment. Make reservations with Terri.

An ice cream social is set for Friday, Sept. 12, at 12:30 p.m.

Tickets are now available for the 32nd Anniversary Dinner with Vito Picone and the Elegants, to be held Sunday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
