PROVIDENCE - The Rhode Island Interscholastic League, the state's high school athletic association, is accepting nominations for inclusion into its Athletic Hall fo Fame.
Nominations will be accepted until Nov. 1.
The Hall is dedicated to preserving the colorful tradition of high school athletics and accomplishments in Rhode island and seeks to highlight the past in order to insure a promising future.
Nominees must exemplify the highest standard of sportsmanship, ethical conduct and moral character and will be considered on the merits of their contributions and achievements in high school athletics.
Nominations may be made for coaches, administrators and former outstanding athletes. In addition, a category has been created for any person whose activities as a game official, school supporter or one whose combination of activities have resulted in a service that has been determined to be outstanding or excellent.
The seventh induction class will be admitted to the Hall during a ceremony in May of 2009.
