PAWTUCKET - North Providence resident Sean Young took home the state title for pitching in the 7-8-year-old division of the 12th annual Pitch, Hit & Run competition recently at McCoy Stadium.

Hosted by Dunkin' Donuts, the Pawtucket Red Sox, and CW 28, Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball.

The program provides boys and girls across the country, ages 7-14, with the opportunity to participate in a baseball skills competition, showcasing their pitching, hitting and running abilities.

Competitions were held throughout the state in the spring, and an all-around champion, a pitching champion, a hitting champion and a running champion were named in each age group; 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.
