11 southern New England musicians will perform in a Music at the Meeting House concert honoring Stephen Foster, often called the “Father of American Music,” whose death took place 150 years ago in January, 1864. Titled “Beautiful Dreams and Wandering Minstrels: the Music of Stephen Foster,” the concert will feature songs such as “Oh! Susanna,” “Old Dog Tray,” “Camptown Races,” “Beautiful Dreamer,” “My Old Kentucky Home,” “Old Black Joe,” and “Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair,” and many more. The concert is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken as a token of appreciation for the performers.
